newbie questions for using cruisecontrol, svn, and xcode

Hi everyone,

I've recently started a job in sotware QA, and i'm trying to set up
cruisecontrol for the develpment team. I have a few questions about my
setup.

1) Passing arguments to xcode:

I am trying to pass arguments to the xcode schedule item. Here is what i am
using:
<xcode   directory="./projects/${project.name}">
<arg value="clean build -target .DMG -configuration Debug"/>
</xcode>
This causes the build to fail with the following output:
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 XcodeBuilder  - starting build
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 ScriptRunner  - === BUILDING AGGREGATE TARGET Plist
Clean OF PROJECT HammerHead WITH THE DEFAULT CONFIGURATION (Release) ===
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 ScriptRunner  -
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 ScriptRunner  - Checking Dependencies...
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 ScriptRunner - unsupported build action 'clean build
-target .DMG -configuration Debug'
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 ScriptRunner  - ** BUILD FAILED **
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 XcodeBuilder - build finished with exit code 1
[cc]May-08 17:07:04 jectController- user-interface-version-1.0 Controller:
build result event: build failed

These arguments work fine when i call xcodebuild on the command line. I
think i must have screwed up the argument in the config file.

2) Updating from SVN
>From my understanding, the SVN child of the modificationset tag looks at the
svn repository and checks to see if there are any changes. Does this tag
actually download the new code, or is there another step required? Some of
the examples I've seen online use a command in an Ant script to download the
code, so this leads me to think that the stuff in the config.xml file is not
capable of downloading the new code. Is this true?

3) Hosting files on cruisecontrol
I want to be able to host the .app files and .dmg files created during the
build process so that the rest of the QA team can download them. At first i
thought the artifacts publisher would be the way to do this, but this did
not work the way i expected. The .app files copied to the artifacts folder
do not open the application when i try to run them, even though the original
copy in the build folder has no problem. When using the dashboard, the
browser is somehow able to expand the .app file, and does not allow the user
to download the app. Is there a way to easily host executable files for my
builds for distribution to the team?

4) Issues with the dashboard
I have noticed two weird things with the dashboard. When trying to open the
artifact "xcodebuild.cc.output" from the dashboard, the browser attempts to
open a binary file. When viewing the same file through the
localhost:8080/cruisecontrol page, it is capable of viewing the xcode output

The second weird thing is the compiler warnings. The dashboard has all of my
warnings in a single line, which makes it difficult to read. I was wondering
if this is supposed to be more like a list of warnings rather than one
single long line.

Thanks

Chris
