I had a similar problem some while ago (on windows though) - it started when daylight saving changed. The cause, .. Java timezone was out. On windows at least the timezone info for java is part of java itself, ... when they changed the date for daylight savings, .. i needed to run a timezone update to correct the timezone files in java, afterwards cruise control was sync'd with the OS timezone, all worked well.
