Injecting build number into properties file

I'm looking for suggestions on how to use the build number, in Cruise
Control, as a build number in my application.

Ideally, I'd think that I'd replace a token in a properties file
during the build and before the file is compiled into a jar.

I tried doing a search, but must not have been using the right terms.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
