1. How do you start cruise for the "other" user?
2. If you do "su -l otheruser" then run your var-saving script does it save
the expected env vars?
2.a. If yes, then the issue is related to the answer to (1.)
2.b. If no, setup the wanted env vars in the .rc file for the other user,
then logoff "other user", then repeat (2.) If it works as expected, maybe
you're done - try CC again.

Yes it has to run as a different user otherwise the environment would be
right.
How can I find out if it is an login shell or not? Or can I set this
somewhere?

By the way, when i set the environment with a script which is executed from
cruisecontrol everything runs. However,
this is no good solution... :/

Maybe cruise is configured as a service and runs as a different user?
Maybe the shell that starts cruise is not a login shell and therefore is not
scripting some of the shell init scripts?

Subject: [Cruisecontrol-user] Cruisecontrol uses wrong environment

Hi there!

The problem I'm facing is that my cruisecontrol uses an other environment
than the shell uses. I wrote a little script which write the environments
from the environment into a text file. When I execute this file with the
shell all variables are correct. However, when the same script is used in
the config.xml of cruisecontrol the variables from the environment differ.
So I'm not able to build the project... Has anybody an idea? Would be great.
;)

the project specified in the config.xml of cruisecontrol:

<project name="osr-3-0-branch">
        <listeners>
            <currentbuildstatuslistener
file="logs/${project.name}/status.txt"/>
        </listeners>

        <bootstrappers>
            <antbootstrapper anthome="/users/osr/apache-ant-1.7.1"
buildfile="/users/osr/projects/osr_readonly/branches/${project.name}/build.x
ml" target="clean" />
        </bootstrappers>

        <modificationset quietperiod="30">
            <filesystem
folder="/users/osr/projects/osr_readonly/branches/${project.name}" />
        </modificationset>

        <schedule interval="300">
                <exec    command="/users/osr/osr-3-0-branch/temp.bat" />
        </schedule>
</project>

and here is the script:

env > /users/osr/osr-3-0-branch/variables.txt
who > /users/osr/osr-3-0-branch/users.txt

Would be great if you could help me!

Best Regards,
Stefan
