Just another side note, if in fact you are building within a "development stream" a rebase or update will not pick up deliveries delivered after the Baseline was created. So this would not be an accurate representation of "LATEST" on the integration stream.

Just as it was mentioned in a subsequent email regarding this topic, it was mentioned to run an update command as the first part of your build process,  you can run a rebase command just as easily as you can an update command as part of your build process.  Update and rebase are clearcase commands. Rebase integrates the latest changes associated with the recommended baseline into the target stream, and update command loads the version according to the config spec into the view.

Yes, that is correct we typically rebase off of our integration branch. Can a rebase be performed as part of the Cruise Control build or does this still have to be performed manually before the build kicks off? You mention the update command, is that a field within Cruise Control?

You can run an update command as the first part of your build.  I'm curious though as to why you use a dynamic view and then copy it to a local directory.  A dynamic view is suppose to have the latest version of the elements by virtue of the fact it use the MVFS functionality.  If you use a snapshot view and then update the view, you will have the latest code as of the time you perform the update. Also, sounds like you are rebasing so I'm assuming that you are using a child stream with UCM and then rebasing off of a baseline.

I am using Cruise Control version 2.8.3 with Clear Case. We are performing timed builds. We copy the source from a dynamic view to a local directory, then commence with the build. Is there a way to make sure that I have the latest view automated through Cruise Control before I copy to our local directories? I realize there is a plugin that triggers a build when a change is made, but since we are using timed builds I basically just need to make sure that my view is up to date and was not sure if Cruise Control can kick off a rebase.
