Building Cruise Control from repository fails

I would like to attempt to tweak a couple of things, so I downloaded
and attempted to build cc.

My environment:
cygwin 1.7
Winodws XP
ant 1.8.0
javac 1.6.0_16

The failure:
-generate.svn.revsion:

BUILD FAILED

However, if I perform
C:\cygwin\bin\bash-3.2$ svn status -u
"C:\csweeney\workspace\cc\cruisecontrol\reporting\dashboard\ "
Status against revision:   4461

Any hints?
