Sending an e-mail on errors.

I wanted to send a notification of build failures by e-mail, figuring
it should be fairly straightforward. But I get a bit of a cryptic
message:
[cc]Oct-07 16:17:19 EmailPublisher- Invalid email: User
[cc]Oct-07 16:17:19 Project - exception publishing results with
net.sourceforge.cruisecontrol.publishers.LinkEmailPublisher for
project tetrisworld
net.sourceforge.cruisecontrol.CruiseControlException:
javax.mail.MessagingException: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command
first. w9sm3024447wfd.14
and then a long stack-trace.
My config.xml contains the following:
<publishers>
<email returnaddress="[email protected]"
mailhost="smtp.gmail.com" password="xxx" username="[email protected]">
<failure address="[email protected]"/>
</email>
</publishers>
In reality "[email protected]" is my real gmail address of course.
I have Googled until I weighed an ounce, but didn't find much in terms
of examples or documentation how to make this work. Is it as simple of
having a wrong attribute in the XML above, or is there another common
way to fix this?
In general CC seems to be rather poor in reporting what could be wrong
in the XML.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Mark
