It was running under an account with admin privileges. The system path had java_home set to where the jdk is installed. I changed the service to go back to starting under the default windows service account ( which should be the same one because it's the one I'm logged in as ) and now the service runs. I can't explain it. Now a warning is being posted to wrapper.log. STATUS | wrapper | 2011/01/19 21:18:39 | --> Wrapper Started as Service STATUS | wrapper | 2011/01/19 21:18:39 | Launching a JVM... Does that need any environment variables set, like PATH?
