dashboard shows all projects as discontinued

I added a note about this to the open JIRA ticket at http://jira.public.thoughtworks.org/browse/CC-800 (JIRA is back up now!)
in case others have this problem and find this topic in a JIRA search for "discontinued". Perhaps it will help them;
I can't disrupt the users any further by trying 2.8.4 again.  But is definitely looks like a regression in CC.
