Hi Csaba,

I'm pretty sure you can control the port used for any of those things 
using the features of Jini. As to exactly which features, settings you 
need to tweek, I'd have to refer you to the old, but still useful Jini 
site :

If you are crossing firewalls, those sites may have other useful tips 
too. Using "unicast" discovery is one option, but you lose 
"self-healing" benefits if you go that route.

Hi all,

I noticed that the lookup service uses randomly chosen ports for sharing 
jsk-dl.jar and reggie-dl.jar, in the 49k-53k range on my machine. Is it 
possible to a) force it to use fixed ports b) forgo sharing these files 
entirely? I'm behind some very restrictive firewalls, and while I could 
negotiate opening up 2-4 ports with the network admins, opening up a 
range of several thousands is likely out of the question.
