trying CC 2.8.4

I had to remove the dateformat tag in the config.xml
because of this error.

cruisecontrol.log:Caused by: net.sourceforge.cruisecontrol.CruiseControlException: Unknown plugin for: <dateformat>

but then, this was not enough index.jsp also use DateFormatFactory,

any idea why this is missing from my install ?

also, the root / shows a 404 while it was our main/favorite view under 2.7.3
