This week, O'Reilly's "J2ME in a Nutshell" author, Kim Topley, chimes
in with the first of a two-part series of articles on wireless Web
Clients.  Part one focuses on Pitfalls of MIDP HTTP. Although it
appears that a MIDP HTTP client is very much like one written for
J2SE, you can't simply port existing J2SE code and expect it to
work unchanged on a wireless device.  The current MIDP HTTP support
offers a lower-level interface than its J2SE counterpart, which
requires your attention to detail as you have to consider the
resource limitations imposed by MIDP.

Also this week, ONJava.com contributor David Johnson talks about
Roller, an open source J2EE-based Weblogger application.  In this
article, he shows you how to build this complete database-driven
Web application from scratch using other open source Java
technologies and tools such as Castor, XDoclet, and Jakarta Struts
and Velocity.

O'Reilly's new "Java Web Services" book by Tyler Jewell and Dave
Chappel discusses UDDI programming. This week we run the second
part of an excerpt from the book on UDDI.

And finally, it's my firm belief that Sun is and will continue to
be the best evangelist for Java technology.  Open source conflicts
aside, Sun is working with the greater Java community (including
