JDO Persistence Manager

	Hi,
		need a bit of clarity on this.
		From what I understand from the JDO spec, the Persistance
Manager instance can request a connection from the connection pool and 
		release it back after serving a request
		Usually, its the container which takes care of this ..right?
		Does it mean that the persistance manager can take up part
of the container's role?

		And if the PersistantManager provides services for
transaction management and life cycle management, isn't it true that the
container itself relegated to the 		role of a security manager?
