Mimer (http://developer.mimer.se/downloads/) QED (http://www.quadcap.com/home.html) Both free (as in beer) and QED is all Java...you might also look at hsqldb, especially it;s Transfer Tool, which enables scripted db-to-db transfers of data (http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net). MSSQL is a bad idea. It's like mixing a cat and a dog and wondering why they fight. Oracle is QBE/QUEL/Db2 family, while MS ripped off most of the TransactSQL/Sybase source tree while they were trying to port it to NT for Sybase, before Sybase gave up on the project. --- sriharirao Bh <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > What i understand from ur requirement is > " U want to run ur Ejb/java from weblogic6.1 to any > lighter DB on standalone/laptop M/c ,instead of > heavy > Oracle9i" if this is the case, > Then Go for Sqlserver7.0 and use IMPORT/EXPORT > WIZARD > and slightly change datatypes if required and use > weblogic jdbc driver for Sqlserver7.0(default one > supplied with weblogic or down load). This may work > with minimal changes. > Sriharirao > --- MATHUR Mushtaq <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hello Friends, > > > > I have a concern here, I have an EJB/Java web > > application running on > > Weblogic9.1, uses Oracle9i, I need a replica of > the > > same for a stand alone > > system laptop/desktop, I need to lighter the > > application so as to suit in a > > single machine with a minimal licensing etc, I > have > > decided to go for MyQql > > DB but I need to change entire SQL queries to > > generate the same DB in MyQql, > > to over come this I have come across 'Oracle9i > Lite' > > but this seems not an > > alternate solution for RDBMS. > > > > Can any one suggest me what could be the lighter > > RDBMS for a single user > > usage for a stand alone system which must have > > minimal impact on migrating > > from Oracle9i to _____ .
