This week, James Goodwill's latest Using Tomcat column shows you 
how to extend his previous Tomcat coverage to the application 
level, by creating a Java application that manages an embedded 
version of the Tomcat JSP/servlet container.  This is the first 
of what will be a brief series on embedding Tomcat into Java 
applications.

Next, O'Reilly's "Building Java Enterprise Applications Vol. I: 
Architecture" author, Brett McLaughlin, shows you the six most common 
enterprise Java programming mistakes.  So, instead of giving you tips 
to use in your programming, Brett looks at some common mistakes made 
in enterprise programming, and looks at what you shouldn't do.

Also this week, O'Reilly's "J2ME in a Nutshell" author, Kim Topley, 
discusses MIDlets and MIDlet suites in this part 2 of 5 running book 
excerpt series.  J2ME continues to be a hot topic as part of the 
ongoing interest in wireless Java, as evidenced at last week's 
JavaOne 2002.

At JavaOne, Daniel H. Steinberg followed the keynotes and their 
issues at this year's event, including the controversy surrounding 
the JCP's JSRs and open source primarily between Sun and Apache. In 
the keynote on day 2, Apache VP Jason Hunter and Sun CEO Scott McNeally 
outlined an agreement with broad ranging implications. Also, find out
