Hi Jake,

Just a quick question.

The barracuda build has really improved and grown over the last year.
However, because of all the new api versions(XMLC 2.2, etc, etc) and new
features... etc etc

I'm struggling to 'keep up' with the correct method to build and deploy
Barrcuda.

If I could make a suggestion....

Whenever a 'newbie' posts a build problem... you've always posted the 'best'
method to build Barracuda.

Why not just add a 'How to build Barracuda using Ant' doc/html to the
website?
Unless there's one already of course...

You could have sections like...

How to build Barracuda under:
JDK1.3
JDK1.4
JDK1.4 and Tomcat 4
Common Build Problems and Solutions.
etc
etc
(I suppose you could chuck in a description of the 'main' ant targets as
well??)

This way you'd save time and you can always point 'newbies' to the website
url.
You also just maintain a single doc/html whenever you need to change the
process.

Just a thought...

Regards
KD

Did you make sure that xercesImpl.jar and xml-apis.jar are in ANT_HOME/lib?
That is absolutely necessary...especially if you are using JDK1.3.x which is
probably true in this case.

Also, you definitely need to have xerces-1.4.4-xmlc-2.2.jar in ant's
internal classpath. Just because you don't put it in ANT_HOME/lib doesn't
mean it doesn't need to be available to the XMLC taskdef. You also need to
put xmlc.jar, gnu-regexp.jar, and jtidy.jar, and bcel.jar in the Ant
internal classpath. If you have questions about how this works, take a look
at either of the contrib project build.xml files and see how the classpath
is set up inside the build.xml.

look in:
src/org/enhydra/barracuda/contrib/
                                              dbroggisch/webapp/build.xml
                                              sam/webapp/build.xml

Please, let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks.

I think you no longer need to copy in the Xalan and the Xerces jars...
