Hi Christian, Well... it's go-live time on Monday... :) Still lots of 'bugs' I need to get sorted out before then. At the moment.. I'm busy sorting out the security frontend to the application. It needs some tweaking. To top it all.. the closer I get to Monday.. the more bugs I find!! ;) It's Murphys Law.. and it's found it's way to South Africa, Cape Town! Oh well... I'll def make time for this.. today/tommorrow/the weekend. Thanx for the quick response and advice.... Will keep you posted. Thanx a mil Christian Regards KD Ps. If I can sort out the security problems tonight.. I might just get around to later on today. -----Original Message----- From: Christian Cryder [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 19 June 2003 05:08 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [Barracuda] Barracuda lockups... Hi Kirk, > a while back.. in one of your posts...you posted something > along the lines of fixing a few things to provide for thread > safety.... Yeah, it was in DefaultDOMLoader. Now, I don't think there were major problems there, but we did make some improvements, so its certainly possible. > Haven't had a chance to upgrade to version 2.0 yet.... > So I can't confirm that the changes you made fix's this. I'm willing to do whatever necessary to help you get this fixed, but tht's probably going to require you to upgrade to the latest version in cvs, first to verify whether or not its still a problem, and then second to fix it if it is. Can you do this? One of the things that may be helpful in duplicating this is to use the Barracuda Workbench (you can run this from WEB-INF/bin/Barracuda_WorkBench.bat)...it has a simple URL stress tester that will allow you to hit a webapp with multiple threads, usually exposing any threadsaftey issues. The downside is that the stress tester does not currently support authentication, cookies, or redirect requests, so it may be a tad limited where you can use it. I CAN confirm that I used this to test my changes to DefaultDOMLoader, and it held up under load without problems. So one of the things you might want to do before upgrading even is to try it out on your existing app to see if you can duplicate the problem. If you CAN'T, then maybe its a different issue altogether. Hopefully this will give you some ideas on where to start...holler if you have questions, and let us know what you find.
