I think you are probably right, although they may be scanning the old archives...the new ones appear to be hiding email addresses (see http://barracudamvc.org/lists/archives/barracuda/2003-August/thread.html for an example). I checked the list settings to confirm that user's emails are in fact hidden. All that to say that I think the list is currently locked down about as tight as we can get it...
