Re: Competition

Without having looked extensively at this stuff, it seems that both of the 
mentioned frameworks remove one of the most compelling features of 
Barracuda; use of actual markup + styling + scripting to generate 
layout.  All examples I saw seemed to go overboard in doing everything in 
the servlet.  This forces the Java programmer to be intimately involved in 
the role of the designer.  While the code seems pretty elegant, there is no 
way that I'd choose to develop a web site as if I was creating a Swing 
GUI.  Would designer mockups need to be manually translated by the coder 
into framework-specific components?   There's probably stuff that I'm 
missing, but I'm not sure if these frameworks compete directly with 
Barracuda?  Thoughts?
