Hi guys, Thought I'd share with you the experience of one of our developers with a Barracuda upgrade. To provide some background, our last CVS snapshot of Barracuda was on 9th January 2002, since then, for various reasons, we've not kept up to date with the source tree. We're currently in the process of open sourcing a database we've been building (http://sourceforge.net/projects/kowari). The developer working on it came to me yesterday asking about updating the version of Barracuda used in a web-based query UI. He came in this morning, and said that it "just worked". He had a grand total of two changes to make, 1) removing references to BCategory, and 2) adding handleViewEvent(BComponent). Both of these he made with no prior background with Barracuda, and by only reading the javadoc. Considering we've done nothing more than monitor the mailing list, I think that keeping a stable API for nearly two years is pretty damn impressive. Well done guys!
