No. The BSD licence don't say the code will be out of copyright instead it maintains copyright. Nobody can steal it, but everyone may "deal in the software" without any restrictions. And by doing so there is only one condition: the duty to include the copyright notice. Otherwise it is a infringement of the licence. I just wanted to make that clear and I'm not against LGPL.
