First I want to say that I dosn't want to start a new huge discussion but I would strongly recommend to take another licence into account, the Apache Licence. Why? First it is also very common and very equal to BSD. Second it addresses another aspect which I neither found in BSD nor LGPL (correct me if I'm wrong): The licence would protect the integrity and use of the name Barracuda. In my opinion this is also an argument against subversion in derivates. The second point which I want to recommend (irrespective of the licence discussion) is to establish a "Contributor License Agreement" like the one existing in Apache Software Foundation, see http://www.apache.org/licenses/#clas. Reason (copyed from ASF): "The purpose of this agreement is to clearly define the terms under which intellectual property has been contributed to the ASF and thereby allow us to defend the project should there be a legal dispute regarding the software at some future time." I hope nobody interprets me wrong. I'm not a Apache evangelist, I only think that they are very modern and sophisticated concerning licence topics. Regards, Thorsten
