I downloaded the sample-build and it builds fine. I will test the automated Tomcat application install feature later.  I'm confident it will work, since the original Barracuda contrib sub-project auto-installed just fine.  I will be tied up for the next few days, so I may not have the time to 'play' with this.
 
Just having a working Ant setup, and a sample directory structure is going to help a lot especially as I climb the learning curve.
 
If you and Chrstian decide to break this out into a stand-alone example project on the BarracudaMVC web site, your email with the how-to instructions would be great as a Readme file to help a new user developer to get going.  
 
I think it has the possibility of being a good prototype app, since almost all apps will need forms, re-population, the event architecture, and components.  This app seems to have them all.
 
Thanks again to Jake, Christian, Diez, Shawn and others.  I know you spent a lot of your valuable time setting up, and working on this project to  help other java developers.

As promised to Mike Warne, I published a sample build based on Diez' contrib project.  Now, I changed things around just to play with some stuff, so it looks like Diez' project and behaves like it, but the package structure is different and I made some changes to the html files.  If nothing else, it will show a relatively simple example of how to do a build with XMLC and Barracuda + it shows the use of Diez' "pages model" concept which is very cool!

here are some instructions I sent to someone else who requested information directly to my home email.  This should help a little...


Note that this build assumes you have the following set up:

1.  CATALINA_HOME is set an a system environment variable
2.  barracuda-log4j.jar is in CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib and log4j-1.2.7.jar (rename the log4j-1.2.7a.jar that comes in Barracuda/WEB-INF/lib) is in CATALINA_HOME/common/lib
3.  All XMLC related jars are in CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib as well as the cos.jar (com.oreilly.servlet jar file).  See version.properties for info on where the build expects to find jars.  If you want to modify where they exist, modify version.properties and everything else should take care of itself.
4.  Modify the manager username and password in build.properties like you did to get the dbroggisch project to work for installing to Tomcat.

That should be about it.  You might want to make replace some of the barracuda jars with the latest ones you compile in the Barracuda build.  I think the ones included in this build are pretty recent, but I'm not absolutely positive and don't have time to check.
