Thanks Diez & Jacob.

I found the JBoss server log had more info than the shell output and
learned that my problem is the version of Postgres I'm using is too new for
the EJB beans that are used.

I appreciate your fine help on this!

Can you somehow compile barracuda with -debug-options enabled? Otherwise,
its
really hard to figure things out.
