You got a nice one. References weren't set as persistent in
xxxDO.checkDup()->xxxDataStruct.duplicate()->yyyDO.createCopy() :(

I didn't recognized your problem, at first, but we already fixed it - in
xxxDO.createCopy() method. With new release of DODS you shouldn't have
this problem.
