In DODS, version 3.5.2, is implemented work with non-oids.
In DODS, version 5.1 we are developing new possibilities, such as caching (LRU based)
 and query caching, statistics, security, multi database support,... 
We implements these possibilities, also as non-oid features.   
Due to work on these improvements, non-oids don't work properly yet.
As soon as we finish them we will implement non-oids to work as well.  

 

In DODS project, in examples directory, you can find example of using DODS in standalone java applications. Also, DODS documentation is updated.

  Good to know that DODS is available as an independent tool. Do you have any examples to use this tool in a stand alone application? 
  Does it support database connection pooling? and does it support legacy databases without Objectid and ObjectVersion columns?
