sample_midp problem on WTK v1

thanks for your implementation.
i've a problem with the midp example (Newsreader) you provide. The XML parsing 
fails on sun's WTK v1 whereas it works on WTK v2 (seems to be an input stream 
reading issue). Did you already hear about that?
