Problem with Nokia 6610

Hi list,

I've been browsing the net for a free MIDP mail client for my nokia 
6610 and Mail4ME sounded very good. Everything installed and works fine 
until I try to connect where I get the error message: 
javax.microedition.ioConnectionNotFound Exception: The requested 
protocol does not exist socket://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:143

Has anyone else had this problem and come up with a solution?
