XPDL questions.

Is there any good rules of thumb for the following:

1. When to use process variables vs activity variables?

I seem to be using process variables exclusively because of the need to
have the same data available in multiple activities.

2. When to use multiple processes within the same package vs having
multiple packages?

Right now, we're putting every process in its own package but we really
don't have that many processes so the administration of it is not a very
large effort.
