Some additionnal questions:

1) corba admin interface is quite usefull. However, it seems any user is also considered 
as an admin (this new user is able to create other user, manage the worflow definitions / packages)
Is there a way in config to restrict administration to an admin group and have lambda user only 
allowed to do actions they are assigned/ start new workflow instances?

I see this in shark.conf
StandardSecurityManager.SECURITY_MODE=NORMAL_SECURITY
# the list of admin users
StandardSecurityManager.AdminUser1=admin

But it seems any user in system has fullright.

2) We would like users to get a visual of running workflow. I see
in manager application there is the presence of such visual with
current steps highlighted. Does anyone have hints on how to
extract this visual from the admin application and use it in an applet?

3) Are there some suggestions on handling multiple langages in workflow 
(have various descriptions in the workflow written in several languages)
