Deciding next participant based upon workflow execution

Hello in some workflows i have a variabale which is calculated using tools and which contains the name participant which will do a specific action. What should i do in the xpdl / shark to have this person assigned the next action? (In my case this is the manager of the process initiator, manager which is extracted from various dbs , like the holydays db). -- David Delbecq Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium - Is there life after /sbin/halt -p?
