Hi Everybody, My team is evaluating Shark to create an Emergency Handling system. We have integrated Shark as an Enterprise Application, where shark is being used as a library being called from a set of stateless session beans(EJBs). But one of the requirements from our client needs implementing the following schenario: Say, I have a user group UG1, comprising of users U1,U2,U3. In a Process Definition, we assign one activty, say A1, to the group UG1. While creating the XPDL, we need to specify whether the type of assignment is of type AND/OR. We could do this by introducing one new Extended Attribute (say, "ModeOfAssignment"). The rule is as follows: 1. Irrespective of the mode (AND/OR), the assignments for activity A1should be made to all the users (U1, U2 and U3). 2. If the mode is "AND", then if say, U1 accepts it first, the assignments appearing in the worklist of U2 and U3 doesnot disappear. Also the system doesnot change the state to OPEN_AND_RUNNING until each of the users from the group (U1, U2 and U3) accepts their respective assignment. The same is valid for completing the assignments and changing state to CLOSED_AND_COMPLETED. 3. If the mode is "OR", then if say, U1 accepts it first, the assignments appearing in the worklist of U2 and U3 should disappear. Also the system changes the state to OPEN_AND_RUNNING immediately (just like the current implementation in Shark). I suppose implementing this has nothing to do with Assignment Manager, because assignments should be made simply as the Standard Assignment Manager behaves. Am I wrong? Where should I change ideally, to implement this feature? Regards, Sukanta Bose Senior Software Engineer, SkyTECH Solutions Private Limited Kolkata, India.
