Problem getting DefaultEventAuditManager

I am trying to utilize the class NotifyingEventAuditManager and add a listener
for it that will do some action when a process changes state. However, I seem
to keep running into issues trying to get access to the
DefaultEventAuditManager from the SharkEngineManager.

Specifically, I keep getting the following error when I try and retrieve the
instance of NotifyingEventAuditManager in my application code via 
   SharkEngineManager.getInstance().getDefaultEventAuditManager().
"The method getInstance() from the type SharkEngineManager is not visible"

I need access to the NotifyingEventAuditManager so that I can add a listener,
otherwise I cannot see how NotifyingEventAuditManager would be of any use.

Please tell me this is possible.
