The ASF websites *are* served by a CDN.
You can see that in the headers:

$ curl -sSI https://geronimo.apache.org/ | grep cache
x-served-by: cache-hel1410028-HEL, cache-lcy-eglc8600026-LCY
x-cache: HIT, HIT
x-cache-hits: 39, 1
