Long term, yes The Grinder will probably support more scripting 
languages. This is one motivation for the introduction of the new 
instrumentation engine based on byte code transformation.

I haven't provided a public extension point to allow additional script 
engines to be added. This is deliberate. I haven't sufficiently thought 
about this, and a poor interface is worse than no interface. Also, 
sub-classing an implementation to change such behaviour is usually the 
wrong answer for public contracts.

We need to start by changing The Grinder to provide the appropriate 
extension point. If you want to have a go at this, I'm very happy for 
you to do so, but first read the notes on the web site about 
contributing. Please first propose how such an extension point would 
look, including the role and responsibility of its interfaces and 
classes, and the impact on the rest of The Grinder (e.g. the console 
might need to be extended to recognise file suffixes for other scripting 
languages).
