Category: Core engine Group: None >Status: Open Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 3 Private: No Submitted By: Alexis Bezverkhyy (grapsus) Assigned to: Philip Aston (philipa) Summary: Grinder 3.4 doesn't build with Jython 2.5 Initial Comment: It is impossible to build Grinder 3.4 with Jython 2.5. When I replace Jython 2.5 with the jar from Jython 2.1 everything goes fine. I'm trying to package the Grinder for Debian and this issue makes the build too complicated. Please correct it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alexis Bezverkhyy (grapsus) Date: 2011-07-13 16:00 Message: That's exacly what I'm doing, but it's a very dirty hack and no open source distribution will accept such a package in its official repo. You should at least provide a compilation option so that the old API could be disabled and Grinder built without it. That would permit me to propose my Debian package for its integration to the main Debian archive. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Philip Aston (philipa) Date: 2011-07-13 12:21 Message: Currently The Grinder uses Jython 2.2.1, and depends on it by default. It relies on Jython internal APIs that were changed in an incompatible way in 2.5. There is a work in progress to introduce a more capable instrumentation engine that has no direct dependence on Jython, however this is not yet the default engine and has known issues (2958145, 2992248, 3287570). As a work around, you might obtain a copy of the Jython 2.2.1 jar file and drop it into the lib directory. This will allow the build to complete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=118598&aid=3324088&group_id=18598 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AppSumo Presents a FREE Video for the SourceForge Community by Eric Ries, the creator of the Lean Startup Methodology on "Lean Startup Secrets Revealed."
