I've a tentative fix in 3.7 which will be released soonish.

Seeing its rare, I suggest you live with this for now and reopen this
problem if you can reproduce on 3.7.

It only happened once, and I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to try to
repeat it.

But would be happy to try anything reasonable to reproduce if you can give
me a clue bat.

How repeatable is this?

I think it is due to the background file listener not being dispatched in
the Swing worker thread.
