Category: Core engine Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Philip Aston (philipa) Assigned to: Philip Aston (philipa) Summary: DCR instrumentation fails with Java 7 Initial Comment: Gary Mulder reports: I'm attempting to migrate to Gentoo with Linux Kernel 3.0 and Java 7. A tad bleeding edge, I know. Ironically, the same Gentoo provides Jython 2.5.1, which has many missing deps for the The Grinder, so I manually had to install Jython 2.5.2. Has anyone had any success running The Grinder under Java 7? 10/31/11 1:27:17 PM (process grinder01-0): The Grinder version 3.5 10/31/11 1:27:17 PM (process grinder01-0): Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.7.0_01-b08: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (21.1-b02, mixed mode) on Linux amd64 3.0.6-gentoo 10/31/11 1:27:17 PM (process grinder01-0): time zone is GMT (+0000) 10/31/11 1:27:20 PM (process grinder01-0): worker process 0 10/31/11 1:27:20 PM (process grinder01-0): Java VM does not support class retransformation, DCR unavailable 10/31/11 1:27:20 PM (process grinder01-0): instrumentation agents: NO INSTRUMENTER COULD BE LOADED 10/31/11 1:27:20 PM (process grinder01-0): executing "runner.py" using Jython 2.5.2 (Release_2_5_2:7206, Mar 2 2011, 23:12:06) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Philip Aston (philipa) Date: 2011-11-01 02:41 Message: Fixed for next release: http://grinder.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=grinder/grinder;a=commit;h=38c0a17c9ce735d997a2c811b3b2961abf12bee3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Philip Aston (philipa) Date: 2011-11-01 02:32 Message: The agent jar manifest was incorrect. I'll push a fix to git later. For now, I'll attach a replacement grinder-agent.jar that should fix the issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=118598&aid=3431764&group_id=18598 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
