Hi Mark, right now we use java.util.logging and the messages are written to the messages.log. For most entries the timestamp ist missing f.e. this standard one: INFO [org.netbeans.core.ui.warmup.DiagnosticTask]: Total memory 34.176.884.736 It seems to me, that if the message comes through an framework like log4j the timestamp is logged. If I look into the NbFormatter class, I can see that the NbFormatter ( [ https://github.com/apache/netbeans/blob/master/platform/core.startup/src/org/netbeans/core/startup/logging/NbFormatter.java | https://github.com/apache/netbeans/blob/master/platform/core.startup/src/org/netbeans/core/startup/logging/NbFormatter.java ] ) produces exactly this message, but there does not seem to be an configuration option.
