Assuming we are talking about the Variables tab, I checked on MacOS
15.5 / NB 26 and I can copy from a variable, if I click directly on
the value part so that just the value is highlighted. It's possible to
click elsewhere so that the whole row is highlighted, and in this case
the edit menu is (mostly) disabled, as described.
I don't know if this has changed recently; NB25 is the same AFAICS.
