Netbeans 27 - cannot load Lombok

I am getting this error:

can't initialize javac processor due to (most likely) a class loader 
problem: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class 
lombok.java.Javac

This worked on Netbeans 24.

I am using the Gradle plugin 'io.freefair.lombok' in version 8.6 which 
is from February 2024. Glancing through the release notes, I haven't 
seen any consequential changes in newer versions, it's mostly dependabot.

Any ideas?
