This is probably a class loader problem. Try experimenting with ikvm.runtime.Startup.addBootClassPathAssembly().

Hi,
We are having troubles with the javax.smartcardio api. We know that it isn't supported by ikvm, but let me explain the issue since we have it working, but not in every situation. Maybe with some little knowledge about the workings of ikvm we can fix it.
This is what we get working:
C# GUI application ----------> ikvm.dll's + our own fat java jar dll version (converted with ikvmc). + j2pcsc.dll from java.
This works because we add the javax.smartcardio implementation into our java jar which gets converted + the j2pcsc.dll which can be found in the java jre bin folder.
So this setup works succesfully, we can read our smartcard readers.
But the following situation does not work:
C# Console application ---------> intermediate C# dll (wrapper with an interface which calls) ----------> ikvm.dll's + our own fat java jar dll version (converted with ikvmc). + j2pcsc.dll from java.
Remark: the intermediate dll is an own small project. So in our C#console application, we would do add reference (the build dll from the other project).
So as soon as we have an intermediate layer (in this case a self made C# dll), then it does not work anymore. Could you have any idea what could be the difference, because the following works as well:
C# console application + the class which in the other case was in our dll is now in our #Console application ------------> ikvm.dll's + our own fat java jar dll version (converted with ikvmc). + j2pcsc.dll from java.
Since we don't have an intermediate dll, it works again. Could you give us some knowledge why the intermediate dll causes issues?
PS: the -----> means add as references. For example: adding the openjdk.dll's + our converted fat java jar as references in the application or add the native-x86 + native-64 + j2pcsc.dll as add as link (since we can not load it as a com dll a.k.a. add reference).
