I'm happy to announce that I've released 3.0.0.CR5, which will the last
CR before releasing final. Unless someone discovers a critical bug in
CR5, I plan to release final in 2-3 weeks. So please take CR5 for a test
drive and see if everything works !

Compared to the previous CR, there's one additional API change involving
Streamable. So if you use Streamable, check out CR5 to see if your code
still compiles. The change is trivial though...

The only major feature that made it into 3.0 is CounterService [1].
CounterService is a service which provides a cluster wide atomic
counter. Any thread on any node in the cluster can grab a named counter
and increment it, decrement it, set or compare-and-set it, and everybody
will always see the same value changes.
CounterServiceDemo is a sample program which can be used to play with
counters.
Enjoy !

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
