hey Team,
Its been awfully quiet here lately, but we have a task that I think
someone could take on. THis task doesn't really require the web
interface to be working yet so you should be fine. We need to implement
a way two search all the active modules using Lucene. I found a blog
posting today that had some code for searching his blog software,
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/pebble/pebble/pebble-core/src/pebble/search/,
take a look at that and you should get a decent idea of what we need to
do. We can search on link descriptions (and names), forum names, thread
subjects and content, people's names, file names and descriptions, buddy
names and poll descriptions. When someone drops in a new module, we
should also be able to instantly search those as well. Any volunteers?
Also, in two weeks Matthew Porter, myself and Igor Stelmashenko will be
at JavaOne presenting JLCP to the world. If you will be there, we'd
like to meet up with you, have a drink, and get to know the people who
work on JLCP. We'll also be heavily recruiting new developers and
trying to breath a little extra life into this beast.
