JLCP Login Problem

There appears to be a problem with the OSUser.authenticate method in our 
system.  Whenever someone tries to login, it apparently gets to that 
method then throws a StackOverflow exception on Orion 1.6.  We're using 
a special Hibernate provider, but has anyone else heard of an error like 
this?
