I'm tempted to do it - although it would make sense if we then move
to have separate independent top-level projects for dna and loom.

as already pointed out by peter they are separate project
and there is the issue of "perception" say for people wanting to
use just dna and being intimidated by the bulk of the rest of loom.
it might also encourage other container projects to support
the dna independently of loom.

so I could start refactoring the codebases to move to the new packages
and in the mean time pete could start the process of setting up
the top-level projects.

sounds like a plan?
(I'd like to do it over the weekend - so shout early if any objections :-)
