Because it means it is more complex than it needs to be. We should make the 
decision for the user so they dont have to think about it. Given that Loom 
does not really support it atm and there is schema validation for it we could 
probably remove it without harming users.

Actually the docs say they are and ComponentValidator will object if they are 
both implemented by the same class ;)
