I still dont think that this is a good idea. The main reason is that we dont want anything at Codehaus to even smell of "alpha"/"beta" quality. Ideally the code here should all be extensively unit tested, maintained etc. I would still like the ability to develope tools/code and watch it go through whole lifecycle. ie MetaClass has basically taken a year to get where it is now and it is still not of non-alpha quality yet ... close but not quite.
