Hhhm, my comment on closing this issue was lost by jira. What I said was:

The io layers in jetty have been extensively reworked between 7.0.2.RC0 and now. I'm confident that what you're seeing is the logging of clients abruptly closing a connection without properly completing the ssl shutdown sequence.

Having said that, if you show (with wireshark, ssl trace etc) that the above is not the case, then please do reopen the issue and we'll take another look.
