have you looked at eclipse plugin for glassfish? would be a good idea
have something to take as reference and to do comparations n such
cases.

one thing i've learned is those server plugins can't do anything that
server itself can't. so, in the best case jetty's server adaptor can
be extended or replicated to support jetty 7 by just changing some
strings.
